Watch: CIA Issues Persian Message Amid Reports of Internal Tensions in Iran
The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has posted a message in Persian on its account on X, urging Iranians to contact it securely amid ongoing internal unrest.

The message read: “Hello. The CIA hears your voice and wants to help you. Below are the instructions for reaching us safely online,” accompanied by a short video explaining encrypted communication methods.

This message represents one of the CIA’s most explicit outreach efforts to Iranians in Persian, similar to earlier calls by the Mossad, but it is considered rare for a U.S. intelligence agency.

The move appears aimed at gathering intelligence on Iran’s nuclear and military programs as well as internal opposition, while offering potential support to informants, according to media reports.

In recent years, several intelligence agencies, particularly the CIA and, to a lesser extent, the MI6 and Mossad, have used open messages on digital platforms, resembling advertisements but intended to enable secure communication with potential sources.
